With the advent of technology, we also have been needing more and more energy. Now, even the whole house can be equipped with smart technology, and this entails more energy. And with the increased consumption of energy, comes the greater risk of electrical damage, issues, and problems that could lead to explosion and fire.

There are different services that can provide you professional electrical services such as installation and electrical bonding, and other important services that could provide you secure installation and repair when it comes to electrical wiring.

Also, as a homeowner, you can potentially reduce the risk of these electrical hazards and eliminate accidents by being aware of means taking steps in preventing wiring damage.

Warning: this is for investigation purposes only. Repairs and check-ups need to be done by a professional electrician or technician.

 Most Dangerous Home Electrical Hazards

1.Wet hands

One should not handle any electrical appliances with a wet hand as water is a very good conductor of energy and electricity. If your hand is wet, you are very susceptible to electrical shock. However, even this basic preventive measure is forgotten and not taken seriously by most people as they still reach for their hairdryer immediately after taking a bath, or use their appliances in their bathtubs, sinks, and taps.

2.Extension cords

When you have an extension cord, it needs to be carefully placed and fixed to a place where it cannot be easily moved by anyone or by children or pets to avoid the chances of accident and tripping. Also, do not insert another extension wire into the extension wire as this will result in an electrical short circuit. Also, do not use an extension wire as a permanent additional socket and do not insert many appliances into the extension wire.

3.Covered electrical cord sand wires

When you put too much cover on electrical wiring, this might cause the wiring to overheat which potentially leads to fire and accidents. It is important to keep wires away from the other material you have in your house. Also make sure that your computer, television, and other electrical appliances that use heavy energy have enough space away from each other and are provided with proper ventilation to avoid overheating of these appliances.

4. Be checking of your light bulbs

We do not usually think that light bulbs impose risks and hazards to us, but they do, especially when they are placed near inflammable materials and objects such as plastics, beds, drapes, and other materials in your home or house.

5. Keep your children at check

Be always vigilant to your children as they can also be victimized by wiring that is not placed properly. Make sure that if you have pets and small children, electrical wiring and extension wires are not reachable by them to prevent accidents and tripping.

Final thought

As a homeowner, it is important that you keep aware of the preventive measure that you need to do to avoid fire accidents and injuries inside our house. Also, remember that all you can do is to check signs of electrical damage, but you are not recommended to do some repairs. Contact your technician.
